Just met a Croatia Zagreb player

Currently travelling the world like Caine from Kung Fu and am staying in Pula Croatia for a month or so. Went for a bit of a trek this morning to grab some shopping, took the scenic route which took me down along the coast. Stopped to take some video, where this young lad was fishing and he asked if I was English (I was wearing a Hammers polo). I was a bit shocked, it is off season and not met another English person here.
Turned out he was a lad called Robbie Burton, Welsh under 19 international, living out here on his own. Plays for Zagreb but currently on loan to local side - NK Istra. Nice lad, hopefully going to head down to watch them play next weekend.
Anyone else met any random footballers on their travels?

When I went to the Algarve as a kid, we were sat in a restaurant next to ANDY GRAY.

Not a player, but i did have a beer with Steve McClaren once, decent fella too, a lot smaller than i expected. He didn't have a Dutch accent back then

David O'Leary in Monaco, nice bloke, and he kicked the ball he had with him to me. I should have Peter Kay'd it into the harbour, but I arrowed it back to him.

More a manager than a footballer obviously but myself and the wife sitting at a table in Monaco next to Alex Ferguson and his missus. Lovely bloke, we had a good bit of back and forth throughout the meal, he even took a good slagging about him robbing Irish horses (Rock of Gibraltar). He loves his good quality wine btw.

Met Ronaldinho at a Vegas pool party - have a nice photo of him and me doing the crossed hammers sign (put it up on here a few years back).
Was in 2009 when he was with AC Milan.

Often met the whole Spurs quad back in the early 1990s, when Gerry Francis then Ossie Ardilles were the managers. Often found myself next to Jurgen Klinsmann in the traffic, he used to drive an old VW Beetle and must have lived in the same area (Hendon).

Late 90's met Emerson in a bar in Tenerife not long after he'd moved from Middlesbrough and also Martin Dahlin on a train home from an away game at Villa. He was travelling back from commentating on an Everton game and ended up having a game of cards with him.

Shared a lift with Martin Jol when he was manager for Ajax.
Not a big surprise as it was at the stadium, was working there at the time.
Huge bloke 6’3 ish and about 4 foot wide.

Had a brief chat at the bar in Redditch Wetherspoons with Pol Pot and his missus Brenda.
He was complaining about the size of the fish he'd been served, and had apparently VERY SPECIFICALLY asked for no mushy peas.

Met Christian Daily a few times. He's a lovely bloke. Even bought me a pint.
Had a very pleasant chat with Michael Laudrup once. Staying at the same hotel as me in Turkey, when he was managing Spartak Moscow and they were there, on warm weather training. Very articulate

Stayed in the same hotel as George Parris, around 2002. Lovely bloke, loads of 80's and 90's stories. Bought him a beer or two over the fortnight we was there.
